Are you a resident in Saudi Arabia with a newborn born outside the Kingdom? Don’t worry—this step-by-step guide will walk you through the Iqama issuance process so your child can legally reside in Saudi Arabia with you.

📌 Step-by-Step Guide to Iqama for Baby Born Outside Saudi Arabia

To begin, ensure your newborn arrives in Saudi Arabia legally on a visit visa or entry permit. Once in the Kingdom, follow the steps below to apply for their Iqama.


🧾 Step 1: Pay the Required Fees

  • New Iqama Issuance Fee: SAR 2,000

  • Dependent Fee: Pay online via your bank account or SADAD


📤 Step 2: Upload Documents via Absher Tawasul

Required Documents:

  • Baby’s Birth Certificate

  • Baby’s Passport

  • Medical Insurance

  • Payment Proof for dependent fees

  • Baby’s Photograph

  • Father’s Passport Copy

  • Mother’s Passport Copy

  • Father’s Iqama Copy

  • Mother’s Iqama Copy

✅ Arrange these in the order listed and convert into one PDF file per dependent (under 1MB using an online compressor).

How to Submit:

  1. Log in to your Absher Account

  2. Go to My Services > Passports > Tawasul

  3. Click New Request

  4. Select:

    • Sector: خدمات للمقيمين داخل المملكة

    • Service: اضافة. فصل تابع

  5. In the Request Description, write: Request for Iqama – Border Number of the Baby

  6. Attach the compressed PDF file

📩 After submission, you will receive an SMS with a request number. Once approved, you’ll receive another SMS confirmation.

🗓 Step 3: Book Appointment with Jawazat

Once your request is approved, book your appointment to collect the Iqama:

Booking Instructions:

  1. Log in to Absher

  2. Go to Appointments > Passport Services

  3. Click Book New Appointment

  4. Select:

    • Service: Resident Services

    • Region: Your area (e.g., Riyadh)

    • Office: Jawazat office nearest you

  5. Confirm and print the appointment slip


Bring These to the Appointment:

  • Appointment Letter

  • Tawasul Approval

  • Printed PDF document

  • Baby’s original passport

  • Baby’s photographs


🆔 Step 4: Iqama Collection at Jawazat

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to your scheduled appointment. Submit your documents and collect your newborn’s Iqama within 15–20 minutes.

🥳 Congratulations! Your baby now officially holds legal residency in Saudi Arabia.
