Planning to bring your newborn to Saudi Arabia? Whether you’re applying for a visa on arrival or through the embassy, our guide explains each method clearly — and shows how JCT Translation Office can support you with certified document translation required for the process.

Method 1: On-arrival visa for the newborn (if Baby is less than 12 months old)

✈️ 3 Ways to get Newborn visa to Saudi Arabia

There are three official methods for residents to bring a newborn child into the Kingdom:

🟢 Method 1: On-Arrival Visa for the Newborn

✅ Only applicable if:

  • Baby is less than 12 months old

  • Both parents hold valid Iqamas

📄 Required Documents:
  • Newborn’s birth certificate

  • Newborn’s vaccination card

  • Parents’ Iqamas (copies)

  • Parents’ passports (copies)

  • Valid exit/re-entry visa for the mother

🔤 All documents must be clearly legible and translated into Arabic if not already. At JCT Translation Office, we provide fast, certified Arabic-English translations accepted by Saudi immigration.
✈️ Travel Tips:
  • Mention during check-in:“As per Saudi regulations, the newborn is eligible for an on-arrival visa if both parents have Iqama and the child is under 1 year old.”

  • Prefer airlines familiar with GCC immigration rules (e.g., Saudi Airlines).

  • Upon arrival, immigration will stamp the baby’s passport and issue a Border Number.

✅ The visa is automatically linked to the father’s Iqama, unless requested otherwise.

🟡 Method 2: Permanent Family Visa for Newborn

If you prefer to have the visa in place before traveling, or if the child is over 1 year old, this is your best option.

📄 Required Documents:
  • Original passport of the newborn

  • Birth certificate (Arabic-translated)

  • Vaccination card

  • Two passport-size photos (white background)

  • Mother’s passport, exit/re-entry visa, and visa page copy

  • Iqama copies of both parents

  • Father’s passport copy

  • Employer’s full address in Saudi Arabia

  • Absher report showing parents’ Iqama validity

📝 Once your documents are ready, submit them through an authorized agent or VFS office. They will forward the application to the Saudi embassy in your home country.

💡 At JCT Translation Office, we specialize in certified Arabic translations for embassies and VFS submissions.

🔵 Method 3: Apply for a Family Visit Visa

This is a suitable option for temporary stays.

🔁 Process Overview:
  1. Submit a Family Visit Visa request through Absher in Saudi Arabia

  2. Send the visa order to an agent or VFS for stamping

  3. Once approved, book the flight for your newborn

📌 The visit visa may be valid for up to 90 days, with possible extensions.
